Brat camp for troubled teens
Brat camp is a program for troubled teen and is related to
the wilderness programs and boot camps. It is a camp for a
bratty teenager. The brat camp are not like the simply traditionally
school in which the teen gets a proper education and don’t
get a follow up care to them but it is a simple camp program
which is done for the treatment of troubled teen. The brat
camp is not good for that type of troubled teens that have
a serious problem like mental breakdown and serious illness.
But these brat camps are used for the treatment of those teens
who does not respect their parents and their needs. These
camps are also known as intervention camps. Mostly parents
use brat camps in their teen years or in their youth.
In the brat camp the troubled teens are involved that have
filled with relatively TV’s typical conflict, deceipt
and reprehensible behavior. The program also includes the
youth, their family and the program operators themselves for
feeling of nature and events and also for the experience of
wilderness therapy program. The camp motivates the troubled
teens and their family to engage their campers in a powerful
personal growth experience by using wilderness adventure as
a natural and uncompromising teacher. The adolescent and their
family have commented on good or bad guidance of Brat Camp
staff. The wilderness itself is the teacher in our program.
The instructors treat as a teacher and as a guide to help
and interpret the experiences and the surroundings faced by
each camper.
Brat camps are not used for long term treatment of teenagers
as like wilderness program and boot camps. Brat camps are
also not effective for long term treatment in behavior modification.
They typically do not confront the issues that result in the
behavior. For the long term treatment the residential treatment
centers and specialty boarding schools are more appropriate
options than brat camps. The objective of Turn-About Ranch
is to provide a tough, hard-hitting, high-impact adolescent
residential treatment program for troubled teenagers that
will remold and turn around the lives of rebellious teens.
The residential treatment centers objectives are facilitated
through the environment of an historic, real life, cow and
horse ranch and the use of old-time values and morals such
as honesty, respect, teamwork and accountability. In the residential
treatment center traditional standards and beliefs are not
only taught but practiced for their treatment. They also use
some therapy programs for their treatment.
The brat camp are useful for the treatment of teenagers
defiance, teenagers low self-esteem, teenagers confusion,
manipulative behavior, teenagers lying, teenagers running
away, teenagers experimenting with drugs and alcohol, teenagers
promiscuity, teenagers out of control anger, teenagers sadness
or depression, teenagers poor academic performance, teenagers
impulsive or irresponsible and respect for their parents and
others. For the treatment of above shortcoming they use military
type rules which make the teens a perfect man.
The brat camp teaches the teenagers:

• A motivation for teamwork
• The importance of hard work
• Provide better discipline
• Getting help from other
• Listening to others
• Building healthy and meaningful relationship
The most popular and good brat camps are those that are
labeled as boot camps. The physical component of these camps
is very extreme, as well as the psychological process of breaking
down bad behavior and replacing it with good choices and attitude.
